Welcome to my 300 subscriber build contest!
In order to enter, simply submit a project with (contest) in the title, PM to me and I will post it to the entries list below. This contest is to celebrate my 300 subscribers that have ever so loved and supported me! I have somewhat been lacking modern architecture during the last month, and I'd like to see some inspiring creations!
Rules:
-Build must not be copied nor plagiarized, this will result in an automatic disqualification.
-This modern build can be ANY concept, a house, a tower, however, it MUST be habitable. (Be able to live in)
-Texture packs / rendering / whatnot allowed, you must provide 1 photo that is unedited.
-Your build can be as big as you want, however, but this may not indicate quality.
-Must be ONE singular building being presented.
- Build partners allowed, however, you MUST indicate who built each part.

As a bit of inspiration for the contest, and a little spoiler for a project that i am finishing up, here is the building that is essentially the birthplace of modernism. Every aspect of architecture since the 1930s has been influenced in some way by the teachings and practices of the Bauhaus School of Architecture

To understand modern styles (i'm combining everything from Modernism to today's deconstructivist/over-digitalized work) takes both an understanding of formal definition, intentional, but limited decoration, intricacy in the structure and facade, and a play with material choices (color, material type, etc.). Some take the route of formal purity, using simple forms and materials (Modernism and its successor styles), while others take formal cues from previous buildings, and express them using modern materials (post-modernism), and others still try to stretch the possibilities of structure utilizing digital means and the most advanced materials (in Deconstructivism and its derivations). Take a look at assorted architecture blogs and other resources if you really want to try modern buildings in minecraft. For contemporary work, yes, you do need to think abstractly in the idea, but simplicity and clarity in function is still at the core since the Modernist days of the early 1900s.
