PlanetMinecraft Race League [Speedrunning tournaments/Hub]
Entry for current race (Minecraft #1) is now closed
PMC-RL is a speedrunning/racing league and hub. We hold racing tournaments for speedgaming, skinning, art, projects, PMC bingo (coming soon) and more. Ideally there will be one ranked race per week, and as many unranked races as anyone wants to do during the week.
Announcements
How do tournaments work?
Depending on how many entries we have during the week, there will be one race with all entrants participating, and the top 12, 8, 6, etc will move on to the actual tournament.
From there on it will be a normal tournament with randomized brackets.

How do you race?
We have a custom IRC bot with a helpful system to automate the races with commands. More on this under "How to connect."
General gaming races are simple, just finish the goal before your opponents. Goals are to be set with the game.
Skinning and building races are a bit more complicated. We PM a different (but related) subject to build or skin to all the participants, and they work on that as fast as they can and then show it to three designated "judges" who will have to unknowingly guess what the skin or build is. You are placed by the order all three of your judges guess correctly.
PMC bingo is a new thing on it's way once the hub is more established. It is like normal bingo, except for calling out numbers you have to do specific tasks around PMC. First to get "bingo" wins.

4) Entered into Champion Race (all the tournament winners of a certain month)
Ranked/Unranked Racing
We will have a special leaderboard just for PMC racers to list their best times on. Only ranked races will be listed on the leaderboards. Ranked races are races that are spectated/proven to a moderator *(of the hub) while they are present in the IRC with you.
You are free to use the bot to race as much as you want for pracice/unranked racing, but it won't have a leaderboard as we can't confirm the times.

How to connect
Site mod Giraffestock did all the work on http://www.offlinespeedrun.com and the Racebot, huge thanks to him.
OfflineSpeedrun, and RaceBot, are tools for you to use as a free and opensource alternative to services like SpeedRunsLive. Simply connect to our IRC channel, #OfflineSpeedrun on freenode.net, and mess around!
Please keep in mind that the bot is a very large work-in-progress and is prone to crashing at random times. Even though the bot may stay connected to IRC, it may not be working correctly.
How to connect: Use offlinespeedrun's web client or use your own IRC client and connect to #OfflineSpeedrun on irc.freenode.net

The race will be held this Sunday. I will send PMs out later today to get the best time for all of us.
If there is still 9 by the time the race starts, I will drop out so we can have proper even brackets.
