Job Summary
NeuroGames gamifies therapy which is used to facilitate telehealth at the Full Potential Psychology Clinic and online. The primary product is Legend Land, a private Minecraft server that is used to break down barriers to people receiving mental health treatment and support such as geographic region, mobility and view of traditional forms of therapy. NeuroGames was recently recognised for its potential and has become a Microsoft Partner Program.

This role requires knowledge of Minecraft Java and the Minecraft Bukkit API. The successful applicant will work as a part of a team to build the maps in Legend Land, develop plugins with the support of the development team and check game updates.


The primary focus will be to continue to build a website that interacts with the game using Spring VMC, Java website development framework.

Training will be provided but proficient and demonstrable ability to program in Java is required, a comprehensive understanding of Minecraft and website building with Spring VMC is also essential. Candidates will need to show examples of Minecraft plugins at the interview.


The Role:

• Creating plugins.
• Be involved in the quality assurance process including checking game updates and testing new features.
• Working with the development team to implement game updates.
• Working with the team to create and develop new minigames.
• Continue to develop the Spring VMC website.
• The requirements of this role will grow as your skills and familiarity with the systems progress.
• The successful candidate will work as a part of the development team and report to the creative director.
• Building game structures in Minecraft Java Edition.

Minimum Requirements:

• 8 months Java experience (learning not included).
• 8 months experience with Bukkit API.
• Age 16 or older.
• Able to sign an NDA & Contractor agreement.
• Able to commit at least 10 hours a week. You will be able to work additional hours and can adjust on a weekly basis.
• The ability to work as a part of a team.
• Positive attitude, passion, willingness to learn and a love of games.

Desirable Traits

• Ability to write high performance, quality java code which adheres to modern Java conventions.
• Experience with NMS development and working with packets.
• Experience with Docker and container technologies.
• Real life/professional experience.
• Excellent troubleshooting, testing, debugging and quality assurance skills.
• Self-directed and takes initiative to drive progress
• Good attitude and willing to have fun.
• BS degree in Computer Science, currently studying or equivalent work experience is highly regarded.
