Hey folks! o/
I'm working on some textures to add to the Vanilla Textures. I'd love to have the bottom side of netherrack have some plant-like bits hanging down. It's almost working but for some reason I can't get the texture to actually display the transparent parts… instead it will render on an opaque pane…
Sadly I can't seem to figure out how to make this work but maybe one of you knows what to do? c:

You can use blocks that allow transparency for example glass, if that suits you. However you can't do it this way with opaque blocks.

Ah! This is something I tried to do a while back. Unfortunately, due to how the Minecraft rendering engine works, only curtain blocks support transparencies. It is still possible to do this, but you would need to make a plane only where there is texture.

I was hoping to avoid that… but if that's really the only way i guess i'll have to bite that bullet. qwq

you are exporting them in 32 bits png right?

Yes, I am. This is the texture I'm using:
It's a 32 Biit PNG and other blocks like grass or lily pads work fine. It seems to have something to do withe Netherrack being a full and non-transparent block.
