I have a mob grinder/ xp farm that I designed myself. It works great with all basic mobs ( skeletons/zombies/spiders/creepers) and would love to share it with others. It doesn't work as well as xp farms based around spawners but you can get all drops and can build it close to base for convince.
I'm 21 and is fairly decent at building and Redstone

I think the only downside is that it's fairly big and sticks out like sore thumb. Although the structure can be dug out of the ground but I feel like that would take a whole lot longer than building it.

Also it's not hard to build, and doesn't require to much resources besides cobblestone A little bit of Redstone and water
