I am basically getting suggestions on a new processor and harddrive.

My current parts in my computer that are relevant to this topic are:
Intel Xeon E3-1230v3
Asus Z87-A Motherboard
And a WD 3TB Green HDD 5400 rpm. (Not my C: Drive, I have an SSD for the C: drive.)

Now I will go over the problems with both the Xeon and HDD. First off, when I got the Xeon processor, I thought it would of been good for gaming. However, my current build has more power than what one of my friends have, and it has more problems with CPU usage while recording. Because it isn't built for a desktop computer, it doesn't work well with applications not ment for servers.

The problem with the harddrive is the Green part of it. It goes to sleep so it can use less power. However, as a developer, I don't like opening programs that have files located on the harddrive, what happens is it will freeze the program while waiting for the harddrive to start back up.

I am look to upgrade the processor, and the harddrive.
My budget isn't an issue, but perferably not over 600, I want to get another WD harddrive. Also I would perfer if the harddrive was 7200rpm or more.

The processor and harddrive I am looking at is
Intel Core i7-4790k - Comfirmed compatible on the Asus website.
And a WD 2TB HDD. (Model is WD2000F9YZ)

Also, I perfer if the parts are available on tigerdirect on Ncix.

Now lets hear some suggestions!
