For the cautious, nah. If you die with any regularly or go into challenges, probably.

I've played MC for 4 years. Yes it would be hard for me because I'm bad at PvP. That would really come in handy for Hardcore :|

For someone whos newer to Minecraft, maybe. For someone (like me) whos prone to make mistakes and die off of dumb things? Can be. For someone whos neither of those? No.
