Im making a lucky block map where the first part is a team race, and then in a separate area, a PVP fight to the death.
The lucky block area, obviously has to be in straight survival, as some of them will kill a player.
However, for the PVP arena, I want to change a player's gamemode to hardcore. How do I do that????

You could try using command blocks if the version of your game is fairly recent.
