Texture/Resource pack help
hi there sorry for posting this but I was wondering if anyone could help me I am trying to make a texture pack however when zipping and putting into the folder in Minecraft for resource packs it doesn't show up so I was wondering what I was doing wrong
the pack.mcmeta is a .mcmeta file and not a.txt
I got the text for that from here - minecraft.gamepedia.com/Tutorials/Creating_a_resource_pack
I changed the x to a 4 and added my own desctiption
I also don't have it as
name.zip >
name >
pack.mcmeta
assets
it is just a zip with the assets and pack.mcmeta
have tried looking at other guides still had the same issue
thanks for reading

did you use the default windows zip-packager or something like 7zip or WinRAR and accidentally enabled password protection?

Hi, I have no idea if this will help but once you are finished with your textures go back to 1.14.4 folder. From there add a new text document and click file save, save as pack.mcmeta below that click the drop down menu. Click all files. Then save, you should have a free app called atom if you need it download it here https://atom.io Once yo have that installed it should show up as the icon for the pack.mcmeta double click to open the file. It will take you to a black are and simply paste this in
{
"pack": {
"pack_format": 4,
"description": "v4"
}
}
In place of the V4 put the name of your texture pack. Save that and go back (you can delete the new text document) Then drag the files asset and pack.mcmeta onto your desktop. Select them both and right click hit send to compressed zip folder rename it waht you want and put it in your texture pack folder. If you need a video guide here it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5ih57PzqlQ

Solution is easy, you have wrong file structure
Instead of
name.zip >
name >
pack.mcmeta
assets
it should be:
name.zip >
pack.mcmeta
assets
Instead of
name.zip >
name >
pack.mcmeta
assets
it should be:
name.zip >
pack.mcmeta
assets
