Java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: no further information:
I was running a 1.7.10 forge server.
When I used my IPv4 address, I was able to get into the server perfectly fine.
However, if i used my public IP, it would give me the error message that I put in the title.
Does anybody know what the cause of this could be? I turned off firewall to test it. I got the same error message.

Even if you turn off firewall you still have to port forward the sever as your router will not allow "external" computers to make contact with it unless you give them permission. Essentially you have to tell it what port external computers are allowed to talk to it from. The default minecraft port is 25565 so I would recommend using this. Every internet provider has a different way to port forward so I can tell you exactly how to do it, however you can usually do it by connecting to your router at 10.0.0.1(just type that in a web browser.)
