I had just started a new created world and I found a forest burning down. It was near lava but not close enough to burn. sorry i'm new and I'm not quite sure how to post the screenshot.

That is definitely close enough for it to catch fire. Not a glitch.

It probably was close enough to burn. It may have caught fire from another tree that was closer and had been burnt down already.
