That makes no sense, just because you can't afford it doesn't mean you aren't good at it..

Well if you can't afford it, nobody is going to pay you for it.
If you are truly, good at it, then try to get on as a co-owner or developer on a server

That's your problem right there. Not many people are going to rent a server and spend money for someone they do not know. Your best chance would be creating your own server, and I guess you do not have the money to rent a server(hence this thread), so you should try to host a server on your own computer instead.
