I just bought a new laptop and when using the mouse I can't attack or dig when moving. After I stop moving I have to try 2-3 more times before it will actually work. My laptop is twice as good as my previous one, so it does not lag at all or anything like that. I have been playing for a couple years, so I know how to play pretty well too.

For a lot of laptops with a Synaptics pad like mine there should be a "touchpad manager" application you can use to change the setting, mine was preloaded by dell and I've seen other branded ones.

Go into control Panel, Mouse settings, And there should be options to turn it off so you can click while moving your mouse/mousepad

Okay, I will try the option without a mouse first, but worst case scenario I will just get one. Its not too big of a deal to me either way

This has happened to me before. Just get a mouse instead. Trust me, It's worth the money to buy a mouse.

I just figured out how to fix it (thanks to UMayBleed). Go to pc settings on Windows 8, then pc and devices, mouse and touchpad, then under the touchpad setting make it set to "No delay (always on)"

Thanks for the help everyone, I can enjoy Minecraft again

I have the same problem on two different Windows 8 laptops and I can't find what panels (or whatever you wish to call them, windows I guess ) you're talking about

Did yours fix itself after a while, or is it still like that?
