Im trying to run a server for me and my friends but everytime I run the server it shows this:[WARNING] **** FAILED TO BIND TO PORT!
[WARNING] The exception was: java.net.BindException: Cannot assign requested address: JVM_Bind
[WARNING] Perhaps a server is already running on that port?
Can someone help me with this? If so, thank you soooooooooo much

You have to drag the bukkit snapshot thing .jar in a different folder
''Bukkit'' for instance,the open notepad paste this in:
For 32 Bit windows:
@ECHO OFF
SET BINDIR=%~dp0
CD /D "%BINDIR%"
"%ProgramFiles%\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xincgc -Xmx1G -jar craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar
PAUSE
For 64 Bit windows:
@ECHO OFF
SET BINDIR=%~dp0
CD /D "%BINDIR%"
"%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xincgc -Xmx1G -jar craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar
PAUSE
save the notepad file in the same folder as your bukkit.jar naming it
Example: serverstart.bat
Server.bat
Start.bat
Then launch it.Make sure you delete ALL the previous server files,or it will say the same thing.

a vanilla server is when you have a legit server,with no plugins.
I assume you have that.
You have that error because your original server file isn' fully deleted.
I,for instance couldn't run my new bukkit server,cause I still had the plain minecraft server files.When I deleted them,and restarted my computer,I could run my bukkit server.
(It doesnt matter if u dont have bukkit,its just to get plugins for ur server)

if so exit them

I doubt any programs he had open would cause a clash in the port he needs to use...
Have you tried going into your router settings and looked at what ports are doing what? (my parents router could list what each port was being used for)
