I need help with making lava not flowing,

So bassicaly i want to place lava in a complicated place but I dont want any of the lava to be flowing. no matter how hard i try some of the lava is still flowing. help?

Either stuff such as barrier blocks or otherwise you'll need a mod such as WorldGuard which can apply settings on map sections.

/give <player> barrier [amount]
