Minecraft not launching (Mac Mavericks)

Whenever I try to launch my minecraft, it bounced up once, then disappears (from the desktop and applications folder). I have the latest version of java, and I've tried reinstalling minecraft and java. I haven't been able to play for like 3 weeks . If anyone knows what's wrong or how to fix it, please comment.

Never mind guys, I fixed it , but thanks for anyone who tried to help. Instead of the dmg file, I needed to run the minecraft.jar...

iamweirddude:?: Try removing your .minecraft (make a backup of any saved worlds) and than re-install minecraft by re-opening the download file on their website.
I've already done this... no luck

Seriously though... I'm not sure, back up your saves and severlist, and delete your minecraft folder under app support?
But seriously, back up your worlds.
