Out of memory on a high end laptop

I got a new computer a gaming laptop but it wont run voltz or most of the Technic packs I need help now. That is why I did not post this on the forum.
Here are my specs
Geforce GTX 870M
16Gigs of corsair gaming ram
1tb 5400 (I think)
A Intel 2.80 gigahertz
Can someone please help me. On the Technic launcher I have 10 gigs allocated and it still runs out of memory. I have the 64bit java 7.

I know this sounds weird but try lowering your allocated memory to minecraft to 3GB or 4GB and see what happens. I've never seen someone allocate so much memory to their minecraft before lol

Any of the ftb packs work.

I hope thats the problem. I don't know ftb and atl work fine.

Im not too experienced with technic, but there's no way it should use 10gb there must be another problem.
