I was tested a 1.12.2 texture and so far it worked with 1.14

Just double checked for you with the texture pack I used for 1.13 on 1.14, and it worked perfectly fine for me, ymmv but 99% chance it'll work.

no actually they changed how a lot of the textures worked (like particles) which wouldn't be that bad to do manually but would be very annoying.
