What am i doing wrong with the ip!!!!

Hey guys.
i have recently started my own bukkit server and i seem to be having some problems with the ip of the server. i have port forwarded my netcomm router to open the ports 25565. i then checked yougetsignal and it set the port was closed. i have kaspersky pure security and i dont know if is causing the problem or not. when people want to connect i give them the ip i get from ichicken but it says they cant reach the server. is there anything im doing wrong. ps i also left the server ip section blank in the server properties. if any of you can help me it would be great and if you want to would get op thanks

There is a chance you may need to turn off Kaspersky or modify your firewall to get your ports open.
