Skyblock is extremely good for beginning servers.

Why?

All players get their own land, so there is no need for staff to help find a spot like there is in survival or factions. As well as, because they islands are separated, it is easy to protect players buildings without requiring staff to enforce rules. Basically, it should be easier for you to run when starting out as it doesn't require as much active play time on your part.

Before you choose a plan, plan and design what features, plugins, and themes you would like your server to have.

Popular server types are factions (regular or hardcore), prison, minigames, skyblock, economy, survival and towny. Although these are popular, they are also made a lot so if you want to make a server make sure that your rules are fair, your server is not pay-to-win, welcoming and has something new, interesting or exciting for players.
