As the Subject asks..
My son loves some of the older mods - Dinosaurs, Godzilla, Sharks, etc..
I see most of these were built for older versions of Minecraft - will they install and work properly with 1.7.2?
Thank you

No, it is impossible, mojang changed more than half the code on 1.7.2, that's why craftbukkit, forge, and modloader are all taking forever to update. (same with mcp) So a lot of the normal commands in java that you use for minecraft modifications, they will not work, in other words, there is no possible way for you to use 1.6.4 mods for 1.7.2.

no you cant its a different version so some coding is the same and TONS of coding is different so no it won't work.

Is there a FAQ on how to do this? And if so, could i have more than one launcher installed so that I can choose which one I want to start?
Thank you
Thank you

You just have to create a new profile and name it something else like "1.6.2". Then you turn on game directory by clicking the check mark. On the version select the mod version of the mod you want to play. If it didn't help i'm sorry.

No, sadly they won't. you can downgrade with the new launcher if you want to though.
