Increase build height limit

Hello, modders of minecraft. I'm here to ask to you genius people at coding, a question. Is it possible to increase the maximum height limit of minecraft with a mod on 1.9?

If you have a server I think you can change the build height in the server.properities file?

tobblestark thank you for your reply, unfortunately I'am finding a mod that work on version 1.9! And I've asked the modder and sadly he said he won't be updating it to 1.9
