Hello, I am making a forge server with about twenty mods. I was wondering if a coder would help me make a launcher people can download at my server page so they don't have to download all the mods. Thanks.

i logged into the server, horizons is up and running. nobody online though
try connecting direct to the IP, ill tinker with our DNS SRV record and see what the problem is

lol sounds good zagejk, just remember the horizons server is still beta (pack is beta too according to the FTB launcher info). the server still has some kinks were working on but as far as i know, mytown is installed in it to protect your area.

thats the route we'll likely have to take, but thats alot of permissions to aquire lol! we used Overload 1.6.4 from the ATLauncher site as a base, stripped a few mods out like mystcraft, and added Big Reactors and Stargates. we're making the server for it a science based game-play. dont confuse that with role-playing... yuck...
hopefully we can get all the permissions by the time we reach beta, which will likely be a month based on the quick progress the compiler is making thus far...

Gregtech is actually programmed to not work with the technic launcher, the creator doesn't want people using it, So you're out of luck with that, but maybe request a private pack on the ftb launcher? It does work on there.

lol again zagejk, we're putting the modpack together. it's the launcher that we want to be custom
we already have an alpha client working, and the server is up. we're tweaking the mods at the moment, trying to get things working the way we want them to. so far, there are a few bugs, but everything else we've tested is functioning as it should be, of course, without gregtech. but we hope to add gregtech to the pack, problem is, we use technic launcher at the moment, and gregtech refuses to work with that

yes i know, it's just a pain to do that 10 times to get a single modpack, or in our case, it would likely be required 100 times...

Try downloading ATLauncher and get Overload 1.6.4 and you'll see how much of a pain that is....

you can create mod pack, but you have to get the mods approved by the creator of the mods. once you do that they can download the mod pack and go on your server. there are links on YouTube for making mod packs, actually it is very simple!

speaking of which, cody, can you actually code a custom launcher for mods (client side only)? because i'm looking for a custom launcher for a modpack that the Minecraft Division in my community is putting together. It's in early alpha as of yet, but GregTech hates the Technic launcher and wont run through it. oh, and it's 1.6.4 MC with Forge, and a TON of mods, so additional JAVA arguments option is likely to be needed for the PermGen arg
