Hi i am opped on a minecraft server and we are abouts to set up buycraft. The issue we are having is that we cant make the pick we want people to be able to donate for. We know about the enchants and lores and names with the /give command but when we add colour to the name and lore they do not work. I was just wondering if anyone knew the command for this.m

Hi guys thanks alot for the responses they really help.
I just made this and it works perfect for buycraft and you can get coloured names
/give {name} 278 1 unbreaking:5000 efficiency:500 fortune:50 name:&9The_&6Viking_&9Pick lore:&fOnly_for_the_Best_Vikings!
Using this suprised me alot as it has no brackets but it works in game and gives all enchants and lores and coloured name.
Does anyone think i should add it to minecraft wiki because it took me 4 days to figure it out.

This isn't going to work in vanilla minecraft, you probably just have some sort of plugin that allows you to do this. So posting it on the minecraft wiki isn't really an option

You have to put _'s for spaces so this should work ----> &9the_&6viking_&9pick
full command would be /give {name} diamondpick 1 name&9the_&6viking_&9pick
full command would be /give {name} diamondpick 1 name&9the_&6viking_&9pick

I believe that custom colours do not work for names on items.
The "display" NBT tag has the options of "color", "Name" & "Lore" however the "color" tag can only be applied to leather armour for dyed leather armour.
The only texts that can be coloured I think are tellraw commands and server names/descriptions in the multiplayer menu.
As weakwizard said, the command for your custom pick would be:
NOTE: Assuming you want to use a diamond pick.
NOTE: If you are pre-1.8, you can replace "diamond_pickaxe" with "278".
NOTE: Using a comma in Lore will start a new line of text.
Also directly after "tag:{" you can add "HideFlags:1," to stop the pick showing what enchantment it has.
