Item Sorter... Screwy Hoppers...

Hi there .. i just built a little item sorter .. ( comperator, redstone, repeaters )and for some reason the sorting hoppers just dont do what they are intented to. i build an item sorter for 5 items. and the sorting hopper welll... if i put my items into the sorting hopper... ill finish 18-1-1-1-1... as soon as i put my final item in there 16 items move on to the next hopper.. instead of one.

i basically built the common item sorter mechanism... hopper... 1 block behind the hopper comperator on top... repeater below and 2 redstone dust

hi there ..back home now.. thanks for your replies... i just changed the delay from my repeaters from 1 to 4..and its working now... long term i will see but at the moment im fine

edit : someone just told me that the hoppers on our server move 16 items every 6 seconds... how am i gonna fix that..?!
