Packs
Hello! I need some help.
Could someone walk me through the application of a texture pack?
I have both versions downloaded and extracted from the zip, but my PC 1.8.1 Minecraft version is unchanged.
I would appreciate any help or advice. Thanks!

1. Texture packs were replaced by resource packs in 1.6. If you are using a texture pack from 1.5, you'll need to use this program from Mojang to convert it to the 1.6 format. If you're using a texture pack from earlier than 1.5, this other program from Mojang will convert it to the 1.5 format, which can then be converted to the 1.6 format. The 1.6 format should work fine in 1.8, as far as I know.
2. To install a resource pack, you can go to the Options menu in Minecraft, click Resource Packs, and Open Resource Pack Folder. This will open a folder you can place resource packs in.
3. In a comment that you've posted as a reply to another comment right here, it sounds like you may be using the Bedrock Edition, which I don't know anything about. The information I gave in parts 1 & 2 is for Java Edition.

You just need to put downloaded .zip file in %appdata%/.minecraft/resourcepacks folder, then in-game select it in resourcepacks menu.

Hmm, but I'm not sure it will work properly if it's for Java edition.
Make sure to search for Bedrock edition of the pack, if there's not any - send me the link for the pack and I will convert it for you : D

Then you need to unpack the content and pack it into .mcpack file, you can do it with any archivizer like WinRar or 7-zip, when creating an archive you need to change 'zip' in name section to 'mcpack'
After that you will just have to open the file and pack will be imported to your game

There are no folders in the appdate folder. It's empty. Also, even if I leave it there, or in temppacks, it doesn't apply! :(
