1.9 Snapshots-Versioning Information?

Hey, I saw in the patch notes that I am able, as a RP creator, to add versionings, so MC 1.9snpashots wouldn't show it as incompatible..... How do i add the infortmation?

Edit pack.mcmeta to say "pack_format": 2 instead of "pack_format": 1
