At the heart of Celestia is survival, but we have a lot more than that these days. We now have a God and Goddess roleplay called Taomir (tay-oh-meer), which is the name of the land. There are 8 server admins meaning 8 deities. Some are good, some are evil, some are neutral. We live together in a beautiful sky castle in Taomir. Regular players may choose (if they desire) one God or Goddess to become a follower of. Once you follow a deity, you can send them prayers such as "I need more cobble, give me some cobble please" and you may send them offerings of food or anything really, to increase the likelyhood of your deity answering your prayers. They can also provide assistance if you are dying, but they may choose not to if they are evil or neutral.In fact they may get a good laugh out of your death. Good deities will always help you out of death as long as they are online and you ask for help. If you follow a good deity, you wear white robes. If you follow a neutral deity, gray. Evil, black. Once you sign the contract, you cannot switch from one god or goddess to another.You're stuck. Your only other option is to opt out of having a deity.
