You are allowed to grief and kill players, so to help with that we have a claims system that allows you to claim your land and protect your stuff. Our claims system stays in effect for 2weeks of inactivity. This means if you don't log on to the server for more than 14 days straight your claim will expire and be open to theft and destruction.
