How to make HD and Good Skins?

ozelotiI have been recently making skins and all of them don't look good! I don't know how you make them HD, or tone the colors correctly.
If you have any tips please comment it.

What exactly do you mean by HD skins?

I'm not a skinner but I could try giving advice.
I usually blend to colors. For instance, if it's meant to be dark grey and it originally had black and 1 color of grey, I would add around 10 more colors of grey to it and make sure they are almost the same but different enough to notice.
Some skins are meant to be more "bold" so the colors stand out and are not blended, in that case try making sure it stays as bold as you can get it so you have the least amount of color blending as possible.
