Minecraft Java virtual machine error

Could someone tell me how to fix the error when i start minecraft that says "Could not create the Java Virtual Machine" my computer is windows Xp and my opening programs are winrar and winzip.
What i tried:
I deleted Java then reinstalled it
I reinstalled minecraft
I tried to use the minecraft.bat way to fix it (it still didnt work)
Then i tried to search up for codes to fix it but couldn't find any at all.
So if you know how to fix it can you please reply to tell me how to?

Hai i was having the same problems but Came to a fix to it use this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ak51qC9t67U&feature=plcp
Make sure you do these steps:
put minecraft on your desktop
create a new Notepad file
in the new note pad file copy this and paste it java -Xms650m -jar "C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Desktop\minecraft.exe
Where it says username put your Username of your computer
then save the file as Minecraft.bat
save it to your desktop
open up the Minecraft.bat leave it running,
open up minecraft and it should pop up in a little while
hopefully this Helped If not try to re watch the Tutorials on youtube!
Oh and leave the minecraft.bat running while your playing minecraft!

Well i tried the steps you gave me and the steps of the video but none worked when i opened minecraft.bat it said "Unable to access jarfile" does that mean something or is it just the computer?

actually i do have winrar srry about that
