I think it would be awesome if owner's of threads could lock/delete a thread they posted. Such as if a contest was completed, the owner could lock this if they wanted.
I saw an example of this on a pixel art contest, where the thread owner wanted his thread locked, but he had to wait for it.
This would be good because what if someone realized that their forum post was against the rules? Then they could delete it without getting in trouble. Also, this would help for thread owners when their problem is resolved. This would prevent necro posts.

You can already delete posts, but locking them is currently unavailable. I think it would be nice to have that ability, but you should have to earn it by reaching, say, level 10 or such to show that you actually have spent time on pmc and worked, so you aren't going to be just some troll running around being dumb.

Does anybody else think this is a good idea?

The mods said when I requested this was that too many people would span locked posts and that they can just PM a mod to get it locked!

Good point, but then maybe they should fill out a form or something that says why it was locked, and it can only be locked IF the point of the thread has been accomplished.
+Couldn't people just spam posts in othe threads to get a bunch of forum posts?

I agree. If there is an issue with locking then perhaps it could only be enabled in say the contest forum and the graphics shop forum type thing.
EDIT: Woop 100 posts

Hmm, good idea. I hope they add it.
I'm gonna think of some downsides now...
