So , We can't accept money in exchange for ranks or In Game Currency , I don't know if anybody knows this , but the mass majority of server owners are 14-19. And for me , Living in the UK, finding a job is practically impossible , and then , when you find one , It's most likely minimum wage ( £3.71 ph or £5.50 if you are 18) While managing education , aswell as having time to run the server.
This is why server owners rely on donations or server shops to help them keep their server online. Yes , we may just be able to afford it , but we have other things in life to spend money on. I agree this is to stop server owners scamming players , but my RPG , which i have been working on for about a year now , needs a large server , which I simply can't afford. I have no idea how now I will be able to provide people with my interpretation of an RPG without them paying for in-game currency thus , providing the server for them to play on , as well as some money for them to play with. Almost EVERY game now offers in-game purchases , and Minecraft , possibly the biggest game in the world stands out because it doesn't provide the ability for players to start their own servers , and maintain them without having to spend every single penny they earn.
