READ FIRST: I DO NOT CARE AT ALL HOW YOU IDENTIFY! I AM NOT TRANSPHOBIC! IT IS A FREE COUNTRY SO DO WHATEVER YOU WANT; I CARE NOT!
I just do not understand it. You could argue that the way people perceive you actually trumps one's subjective opinion. If I think I have blue skin, that does not make me have blue skin. All that matters is whether others SEE my skin and say it to be blue. I am a dude because I have the anatomy of a man. I don't know what 'being a man' feels like.
What is a woman? You might say that a woman is whoever feels like a woman, but that is like saying the definition of pig is something that is a pig. This is called a
self-referential definition. If I defined pig as a hooved animal with a snout and curly tail that goes
oink, that would be a good definition. I have no problem with the idea that there is a spectrum of masculinity and femininity, but I don't understand why some say not dating a trans woman is transphobic or other things.
TO SAY ONCE MORE: I respect and support anyone who suffers from dysphoria or related conditions. To tell the truth, I will never go through what they've been through and thusly can't speak on their behalf. So take what I say with a grain of salt and remember that I fully support the rights and equality of gender-diverse folks. :)
