Minecraft/Discussion Why do people think Owners can't play?

Dark_UkobachI have been experiencing this a lot on my server, and I have to say it is annoying. I mean I could understand it if i was going in with god gear, full enchanted at 1k, but not in iron armor with a diamond sword like everyone else. Just because I killed you doesn't mean I cheated with some completely op gear, just look at my sword, does it look like it is enchanted? No? Well then how could i have cheated? I disabled binding commands to items(partially because I typed the wrong command one to many times and just got angry at it), so it wasn't me binding /kill onto it. And last I checked i don't have any hidden enchantment plug-ins so that I can have my god sword and you just know.

I guess they expect me to just sit around doing nothing but chat? Meh, whatever, I am going to play anyways. What do you guys think, are there any other server owners out there that have this happen to them as well, and when it does what do you do? Do you back down and just stop playing on your own server, or do you ignore them and continue to do what you want and enjoy yourself?


One word, Kids.

I don't get a lot of time to play on my servers due to copious amounts of updates to our custom plugins additional features and content we are working on adding to our servers, but when I do I have fun, our community is close and they know our staff aren't allowed to cheat at all. Play and have fun, but remember to respect your players, don't ignore them. That's one thing a lot of server owners do nowadays, they are in it for the money and not the community :/

d6d2d6Ok so I've been playing Minecraft for about two years and, well, WHATS IS HAPPENING?!? I scroll in the servers list of many site to be greeted by the flashing bright blinding banners of "PVP RAIDING FACTIONS MCMMO" and I think to myself, why? Why is it that we crave such horrible, horrible things? ~ Cut it to save space ~

I'm not going to read the couple hundred pages of other peoples views but I thought I'll just add mine.

For #1 I totally agree with you, everyone is using mcMMO, and advertising PVP / Raiding, most of the time, kids copy what other successful servers have done, and PVP / Raiding is one of the most successful server game types.

Not trying to advertise my server, but what I like about my servers is that we have been coding most of our plugins ourselves, we have a custom RPG levelling system (that while it doesn't allow you to have everything right away) it is fun to skill up and be able to use more tools and have cool features. (No not an overpowered thing like mcmmo, when you skill up you become invincible).

We are working on a very special PVP and Quest system, which unfortunately I ain't going to share on a public forum as it's very special in it's own way, but it will allow optional PVP and huge amounts of quests.
As well, donator ranks, there is one rank on my server as I don't believe in trying to make a ton of money from something I like to work on. (we don't get enough to pay server costs at times, but we are busy enough) Anyway, one rank is all I have at the cost of 2.99 a month, and only cool abilities, nothing that will totally screw up the RPG experience we are creating. You said yourself, over powered donation ranks, that's getting far to common, especially staff ranks that users pay for, I mean come on, staff ranks? One way to pay bills fair enough, but also one way for a kid to get on and totally wreck your server.

Been honest guys if you own a server and keep running the same plugins as everyone else, whats new? what's interesting about your server? Nothing! While I do like to see the amount of time developers have given to a plugin that you use for your server, using the same plugin on every server means every server is going to be the same and not having anything new to add to the game.

I remember when Minecraft started out, so many new cool mods and interesting additions to the game provided by servers, while there are people out there like myself and my dev team at JR there isn't that many server owners bringing something new for people to try out!

Alienware = poop + $$$$$$$$
MAC = poop + $$$$$$$$

Therefore:

MAC = Alienware

Conclusion:

Alienware is the PC equivalent of a MAC. Both suck and both are overpriced beyond comparison.

Alienware was good several years ago when Dell didn't own them. The former owners of Alienware now own Origin PC (not EA's origin which is basically steam... but crap). Origin PC are great but are overpriced. Still great quality though. But the best thing is Custom PC's built by yourself. Half the cost and twice as good if you know what you are doing. If not, ask a friend who does. Simples right?

PS. PC FTW! Break a PC, you fix it. Break a MAC, you buy a new one worth twice as much with maybe a larger HDD.

I'd be interested to help support with server side things if needed, also I can code the website quickly from scratch, which would be way better than moonfruit. Let's not go with free hosting, which I believe you are using and I will host it on my dedicated servers and also purchase a domain for it, if you need the support JR will help you.

In my opinion if there was enough Minecraft users hating things in minecraft that were added all the community would need to do is bitch about it to Jeb or notch.. Simple...
I like the new updates, I like the evolution of minecraft, to see where it has come from to this amazing interesting game is really cool. And so what if it's getting RPG'y. It's way better than getting bored with the same building time and time again and nothing else.

People get bored of building, I see it on my server, this is why we have a partial RPG kinda theme starting up on JR as well as minigames to keep everyone happy!

It is as safe as any other website.

Malicious things have and will always be uploaded, but then when they are reported they are sorted out pretty fast. Most times its a ban for malicious uploading.

I wouldn't be worried As long as you check the comments you will be safe

PitfallI'm new here, but not new to Minecraft. I'd be really happy if someone invited my to play in a private server, new world. Just a few of us. I would set one up myself but I haven't a clue how and I'm too lazy. Anyways yeah hi XD

Aqua-lnfernoSo I posted a blog about twice,(Sorry for that) because there is something wrong with PMC, It takes about more than 5 minutes to upload a blog, and its still not saving. I think something is wrong with pmc.



Did you post the blog with images? Or any other attachements?

I don't see much of an issue unless you have big images uploading. If it was a site wide problem no one would be posting blogs.
