Countless zombies drop from the roof, landing in great "CRACKS" as they collide with the ground.

Richard, with a few hacks and swings, is able to clear a patch through oncoming zombies.

"We've got to run! Or we'll be dead in no time, let's go!"

Richard begins to step down the ladder fearfully. It creaks as he steps down slowly. Once about halfway down, he sees a small figure being chased by a group of zombies.

"Maybe there is a ladder down the building... I hope so..." says Richard quietly.

He begins to check the perimeter of the 10 story building, and spots a single rusty ladder on its backside which leads to a thin alley.

"G-guys? Should we risk this?"

"Must have been a worker or something... get that Fred guy inside, and we'll try to lock the door."

Richard begins to search for something else to bar the door. The best he can find is the dried up sapling of a palm tree.

Richard momentarily lays on the ground, in slight shock. After a few seconds he stands up and runs up the stairs once more. After many steps, he finally reaches a ladder to the roof of the building. Climbing it, he opens the door it leads to. As he steps out, Richard spots a single walker standing on the roof. It stumbles towards him, and he sends a swift kick towards its face. As its nose cracks, Richard cuts its head open with his axe, and tosses it off of the large apartment building.

With two large pounces, the remaining hounds tackle Richard to the ground. One stands upon his chest, growling in his face. With a quick reaction, Richard grabs its head and twists until a 'CRACK' is heard. At this, the other hound begins to snap its jaws at him. Richard pushes the dead hound's body off of him and begins to kick at the other.

"Shut up, we can talk later! Right now we need to find a way to live!" snaps Richard.

As Richard climbs up the winding stairs of the apartment, he hears a shatter from below. The hounds have broken through, and their footsteps can be heard pattering onward. Richard hides behind a corner of the stairs, waiting for the first dog to come. As it sprints up the stairs, Richard swings his red axe downards and hews the dogs spine. It yelps, and snaps its rotten jaws towards him. With another swing, he splits its skull and it is silenced. The three other dogs begin to circle Richard.

As the two walk in, Richard bars the door with a long plastic broom that was laying on the floor. Almost directly as he finishes, a hound dives into the glass door, making a huge crack in its form. Once again, it plows itself into the door, lengthening the crack.

"Get upstairs" says Richard in pure terror, his face turning white and clammy.

"WHOEVER YOU ARE, GET INSIDE NOW!" shouts Richard as he slides over a car hood, the hounds getting nearer to him. He stumbles on a sidewalk, but manages to pull himself inside of a street-side apartment building.

"Kaiden, hurry up!" screams Richard as the hounds choose Kaiden as their target. "SPRINT!"

"Shut your mouth!" laughs Richard, despite the melancholy world around him. "I thought I got him, but I guess not."

Richard turns around in a complete circle, checking for any zombies that might be around the area. As he faces the street he has been walking down, his pupils dilate in terror.

"R-RUN!"screams Richard, as a horde of zombies, 200 strong, begin to shuffle towards them. The horde is led by 4 zombie-hounds. Their speed is unmatchable, and this is the first anyone has seen of them.

"GET INSIDE!"

(( Hey, everyone. I really apologize about how this thread is going... There isn't much activity. I personally need to step it up, and I hope you all can assist me. Let's make this enjoyable and awesome! ))

"Ryan, you haven't heard all of these gunshots?! What are you thinking?! We're not alone, man! Help us find these guys." says Richard as he pulls his bloodied axe from the body of a zombie.

Richard jumps as a walker he THOUGHT was dead growls and crawls towards him. With a swift jump and swing, his axe embeds into the rotten skull of the creature. Its eyes fade into blackness as it lays still, and blood runs down its forehead.

Richard begins to curse and kick the bodies of the deceased zombies. As one groans, Richard jumps in fear and swings his axe into its neck. He shouts,

SURVIVORS! WHERE ARE YOU?!

Richard begins to sprint towards the distant gunshots, nearly tripping as he does so.

"KAIDEN! HURRY UP!"

After a few minutes of running, he arrives to see the bodies of Walkers laying around in ruin.
