I used PMCSkin3D. If you go to the Minecraft tab and select Skins or Mobs you will have a button on the upper right hand corner of the page that says Minecraft Skin Editor. If you click on that it will take you to the PMCSkin3D editor. Click the Start button. Select New Skin from the file menu and you will get a window with a drop down list of all the different types of mobs.
