Chimneys Mod
For Minecraft 1.10.2 and 1.11

Welcome to the Chimneys Mod! Originally by MightyPork, but he has stopped continuing his mods :(
This is a revival of his Chimneys mod.
Enjoy!

List of chimney types:
Brick
Stone Brick
Stone
Cobblestone
Sandstone
Nether Brick
Obsidian
Iron

End Stone (emits purple smoke)
Red Sandstone
Stone slab (full block)
Mossy Cobblestone
Granite
Andesite
Diorite
Prismarine Bricks

They will emit smoke under these rules:
-There is fire or a lit furnace directly under or next to it, with no block above it
-The chimney block can be placed on top of each other, only the top chimney will emit smoke (no height limit)
-Chimney types can be switched around

Yes, you need Minecraft Forge for this.
In case you were wondering, Mightypork gave me permission to update his mod a very long time ago, proof somewhere in my PlanetMinecraft inbox that I cannot find

The only thing I wish to ask you is if you could possibly get your chimney's to work with the more furnaces mod so that the diamond/gold/iron/whatever material chimney produces smoke when connected to diamond/gold/iron/whatever material furnace? Great mod anyway though :)

You do know it's a "MOD", and as such the items will not be there if you don't use a front-end loader such as forge to load the mod every time you play a map, in which you have used the mod?
OMG THE BEST MINECRAFT MOD EVR!!!!! IT CHANGED MY LIFE THX FOR THIS MOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1.7.10 server support still isn't working. I guess the jar hasn't changed in all of 6 months. Please fix this! This is too good to be limited to singleplayer, and I would really like this for my industrial-themed server!

crash: Latest.log --  log: fml-server-latest.log
I agree with you, i'm making a mod pack for my friends and I and would love this for urban enviroments.

[EDIT] I just tested it on the new Kcauldron server 1566 and still errors out. I humbly request server compatability.

Hmm "Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException: Attempted to load class ckk for invalid side SERVER" Looks like I might've done something wrong in the rendering process, let me check

Edit: I've found what's causing the crash in my code, I'm uploading the new version now.

Feature Request
Make so that if an adjacent entity that uses a fuel source that qualifies as emitting smoke for the chimney actually becomes more fuel efficient and or faster.
  • Jt9
  • Level 67
  • High Grandmaster Modder
  • July 26, 2015, 1:44 am
You mean an entity that takes in a fuel source to power nearby chimneys? Sort of like a furnace minecart that doesn't move?
  • kreezxil
  • Level 2
  • Apprentice Miner
  • July 27, 2015, 7:17 am
Yeah, basically use the chimney as a heat source for entitiies that burn fuel, but the furnace doesn't have its own slot, it simply overrides the adjacent entities fuel burning mechanism. That would be ideal. But I understand if minecraft has limitations and that fuel slot might have to be in the chimney itself.

If you could accomplish that, it would be really awesome. :)

That's a bit complicated, and I'm not sure it can be done. It just depends on how Minecraft is coded, though I'm sure it's possible

I thought mabye you could make it so that you could craft the chimneys with one dye for colored smoke? -Roflkev (This is a VERY good idea hopefully you do it :D)

A model
Emerald, prismarine, and other stone chimneys
Reduce the amount of files by making use of block states properly

I thought mabye you could make it so that you could craft the chimneys with one dye for colored smoke?
Idea: I'm not 100% sure how Minecraft's particle renderer works, but maybe you could scale the intensity of the smoke plume with regard to the number of furnaces connected to the chimney? (up to a limit, of course, or it would lag too much)

EDIT: Maybe if you could make it work with Industrialcraft2 coal generators? Would make my factory look so much more realistic :D
EDIT2: Not working on multiplayer Forge servers, crashes with this error report :l

Suggestion. Make the cimney blocks connect if they are placed next to each other. The max they can connect/stack is 4 (2x2). That will help people make bigger chimneys
