This filter drapes a creation over the landscape, deforming it with the variation in height.

It is perfect for walls and fortifications, or castle sections designed in flatland then brought over onto a generated map.

Version 3 update:

"Drop the bass" causes the bottom block to render down to the surface.

"Embed depth" lets you push your creation into the surface - use this to create roads.
CreditDrop the bass suggested by /u/Chiv. Embed Depth suggested by /u/Random832.

Are there other blocks in the way (grass, flowers?)

Maybe link to some pictures so I can see what is going on?

Try setting the 'embed depth' to 1.
The castle in the 3rd picture looks AMAZING

Yes. MCEDIT filters need to be used. Please use them. Post pictures or a link or something here.

With v3 (and the "Embed depth"), does this mean that it's possible to make realistic-looking rivers easily by using this filter with water? If so, this is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. If not, is it possible you could modify this (or create a new filter) to enable creation of rivers?

Embed-depth pushes the blocks into the surface of the land. So, depending on what you mean by 'realistic', it might do the trick. Have a play with it and report your results.

The right hand wall looks like it was dropped on top of trees...

When the wall is above the ground in MCEdit you can see by the shadow where it will drop. You can clean up before placing to remove the more radical obstructions.

Use replace tool, for instance. It seems like the grass is under the wall whn you drape it.
Big problem you need to fix: Drape dosnt do signs. I pasted this wall i have that has alot of signs on it, then i did again but a draped it, and i did again but the third i dropped the bass. the second and thrid ones didnt have sign writings, they were just blank, so its the filter not mcedit

Well... Codewarrior released a new 1.6 version today, and I haven't tested it yet, but I developed the filter on the most recent development build prior to todays update.

One thing that can happen to your filters when you update is they are replaced by the default ones in the new version. The older build is still there though. You just have to copy the .py file back into the current MCEdit filter directory.

Remember to unzip the .py file too. Planet Minecraft requires a .zip file, but MCEdit wants the .py file within the .zip and not the zip.

Tl:dr; have you checked the .py file is still in the filter directory after you updated MCEdit?
it wasnt there after update, but i put the unzpiped file in filters folder, but it never shown up on filters list

Are you on a mac?

Have any filters worked? Are the default filters there? What about any other filters except this one?

Try this: www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1243762-how-to-install-filters-in-mcedit/#entry19930960

Join that thread and post screenshots of what's failing if you still can't get it working. Pretend that other people can't see your screen and be really verbose and clear on what steps you are taking.
no

yes, yes, yes

i know how to, i have other ones

whats failing is its not showing filter, other filters that i added show

are you sure your filter download is updated to newest mcedit version

I get the dev builds which autodownload whenever Codewarrior releases them.

Maybe if you share some screenshots about your install, and the in-MCEdit filter list, it will help?
can you make tutorial how to use
ill be using this in an upcoming project, ill make sure to give you credit and link to this page

Does this work for SPC? (single player commands) if not you should try to make an add on to that mod that allows it :D

This is in Python. WorldEdit scripts are Java. It won't be too hard to port over. I have a few more ideas I want to put out before I look at repackaging / clean up / porting though.
Amazing.
