Introduced into service in 1943, the British Gloster Meteor was the only allied jet aircraft present during the Second World War. The Meteor's variants stayed in service for another 30 years, breaking several aviation records along the way to its obsolescence. The Meteor F.8, presented here, was the ultimate and final variant designed as a fighter, seeing extensive use as a front line fighter in the Korean war. Primarily used by the British Royal Air Force, a total of 3,947 were made of all variants. Some of these aircraft can still be seen flying today.
