At first I tried to make a elevator with only sticky pistons (at the bottom). But that makes going down more and more difficult the further you want to go down and also consumes more time (compared to going up).
But after I had seen this YouTube video (an update of this one so credits to ThisHampsterman) I knew it is possible to make an elevator with only "pushing" pistons.
In this elevator I used that technique to its limits (with a 3 block high elevator chamber) because a piston is limited to push maximum 12 block.
The buttons in the elevator is placed two blocks back because it otherwise one of the hatches would close (what does not looks nice). And, I think because of system lag, sometimes not the entire elevator reaches the bottom, but after pressing the "call button" again it will arrive entirely.
