The Beriev A-40 was a Soviet/Russian Amphibious Anti-Submarine Warfare Aircraft, designed in the mid-1980's. The aircraft was cancelled after the first prototype was built, however, the project lives on in the A-42, using turbo-props. The A-42 is still under development. The A-40 left ts mark on history, though, breaking 140 world records during its operational lifespan.
