This cat-rigged design with a centreboard matches many other catboats designed for coastal sailing. This type of ship was easy to sail, handled shallow waters well and was simple to build. It was popular for both fishing and leisure because of this, blending utility and simplicity.

Originally constructed on the Land of Ordos survival/creative world, which has since been deleted. I thought it was cool, so decided to release.

Enjoy!

P.S. Water Shader Mod v4c gives the reflective water and 4x AA, and the texture pack is Jadoku RPG 64px.

Additional Notes

I had to scale this up heavily to get any amount of detail in - most real catboats were 3-6 m in length (the plans for this one was 19-foot/5.8m), but I couldn't really do anything with just 6 blocks maximum. This is about 24 blocks, if memory serves, and would look nice in a marina/harbour (or if you decided to use it for cargo, there's plenty of space for chests).

I built this from sample plans from this page, so if any of you want to critique, that would be cool. Feel free to point out any mistakes I may have made!

Impressive to actually get a sailboat to look like a sailboat at that scale.

It helped to be working from real plans. The hardest part was getting the sails to look lifelike, as if the wind was really blowing into them.
