Hello all! The GMC "F model" otherwise nicknamed the "CrackerBox". Was built between 1959-1968. At the time there was strict laws and regulation regarding the overall length of a tractor trailer unit, and a shorter cab truck meant you could pull a longer trailer, and more cargo. Companies would give up driver comfort and safety to squeeze more trailer an load into a truck. Measuring just a mere 4 feet (1.2M) from front bumper to back of the cab. For the daycab version, and 6.2 feet(1.9M) with the tiny sleeper cab. The truck was offered in a few Detroit diesel engine options. Its nickname came from its boxy shape, and cramped size of cab.
