Shadow Captain presents his first & probably last project:

HAVEN CITY

Based off the city with the same name from the Jak & Daxter series, this city is not a replica, and is probably only about 1:10 the scale of the in-game city, probably not even that. I created it after playing the original ps2 game which is undoubtedly my favourite game out of all ps2 games, but I don't have the patience to do it to scale or even as a small replica so it is merely a "likeness" to be used for casual play or even multiplayer for those that don't like absolutely huge MC projects.

As a result, the city features similar attributes to the in-game city such as a shield wall (obsidian core) that surrounds the entire city, city spire from which everything can be seen, gate locks to outside (yeah, I know they're only just doors); there's even a fully explorable sewer system to get lost in & a mine to receive riches from if you can survive the monsters that inhabit the connecting caves. The airport & runway is a relic from a flying mod I once had & decided to keep it rather than delete it.

This is an old project I've refreshed. After creating it after the release of the ps3, I worked & played on it for a while before my interest in Minecraft diminished. Then I lost it. I've only recently rediscovered it, and after updating the city & transferring it to a new map I've decided to put it up for use.

For now the city is "finished," but I will add more to it over time. The only things properly unfinished are the market stalls adjacent to the runway which for the moment are empty. My city has an underground wheat facility which I'd like to put above ground like the agricultural region in in-game Haven City & I'd also like to add an internal harbour as seen in-game but this remains only as a possibility for the moment.

Please note:
If you use my city for any projects or multiplayer use, please ask for permission in the comments below...

MCEDIT:
Be aware this is a large schematic as it includes the whole city and the underground sewer system. Nothing outside the city such as the mine is included. Parts of the city are also very old therefore many of the wooden doors are broken, buttons & levers require two activations before working and a few blocks are missing at the entrance to the sewer.

Not bad for a first projects, and I have some tips of you to improve this.
1) Choose a build style. I found it hard to tell the era that this build was taking place in up until the airstrip.
its kinda odd mixing medieval structures(The Mine, it's all it's wooden supports and such. Modern mines would have steel/metal supports, and have some mining machines) and modern structures, like the air strip. This may be how it is in the game, but I've never even heard of it, so I wouldn't know.

2) Add detail. I can tell that you arn't the best builder, and you might think that getting your city to look like some projects out there. At this level of skill, it's possible I think, but very hard, and would require the city to be rebuilt. But the detail I'm talking about isn't super advanced. Just mix a few cobblestone blocks into the wall, some mossy cobblestone into the streets, maybe some dirt into the streets as well... As you can see once you start doing this, a little bit of detail makes a build a lot better.

3) Learn detail. Possibly the easiest and most effective way to learn detail is to look at the work of others. I'm talking about the cathedrals and such that get pop reel. Just download the map, fly around in creative, and investigate the detail. Trust me, that's how I got started in being a good builder.

Also, nice work with the spire, I really like the shape of the base.

Yeah, Jake & Daxter's starting to get old as the Ps2 becomes more of a relic so not surprised you've never heard it. Thanks for the tips, I will probably remove the airstrip in the future, that was a relic from a mod I played with, and I see what you mean with build styles. If I do get around to it I probably will tinker around with different materials.

In saying that, I really just created this as a casual project that kinda go out of hand, so it'll never reach the level of others, specially since I created this when I was much less experienced.

P.s I like the look of the base of the spire too, but intending on blowing up the top & redoing it...
