This is the first fully functional High definition TV in vanilla Minecraft. No mods need. This tv works off of maps. As you watch the screen the maps are rapidly summoned then removed to create the TV. Make sure you are on the latest 1.8 snapshot before playing the map

If you were to make your own TV here are some things you will need:
McEdit
Texelelfs' Map it filter
An Nbt editor

P.S. Here is some code for you :)
This is the placing code for the maps:
/summon ItemFrame 20 21 -1501 {Direction:4,TileX:20,TileY:21,TileZ:-1501,Item:{id:358,Count:1,Damage:0}}
And this is how to remove them:
/kill @e[type=ItemFrame,x=20,y=21,z=-1501,r=3]
Now if you don't understand how this is done I will explain. I am using a custom texture pack so that's how I got everything to look like it does. Next how did I got the animation working. I used a lot of custom made maps which you can see when I fly around the build towards the end of the episode(they are siting on top). Then I used the summon command to put the image(map) there in an item frame and then very fast then I kill the item frame. I do this multiple times so the image is cycling trough its slides. So it looks like its moving. Next is the remote I used the resource pack to create the look of it, but it is actually a blank spawn egg. So the next question normally is how does that work. I have a scoreboard set up to count how many times a player uses the spawn egg, then when it reaches the end of the last animation it resets itself to a score of 0. I hope this answered some of your questions :)
