Level 50 : Grandmaster Architect

It came to me in a dream. The night up to, habitually, I viewed pictures of New York through google maps. I went to Brooklyn, a part of it just north of the BQE. As I wandered the streets virtually, I looked at all the architecture, indexing it in my mind, as I typically do. I was struck by the age of the area, it seemed virtually untouched by the waves of gentrification eroding the rest of New York. It came in bright, vivid tones of teal, yellow, red, orange and lead white.

As I approached Hicks and Cranberry, I saw a rare sight for New York. It resembled an old English pub, lead white stucco walls with black cornices to contrast. It's door was red, it takes guts to make your door red. The front of the building facing Hicks St rose two floors, before slanting back in a grey shingle pitched roof. From the side of Cranberry, the roof was flat, using the same lead white stucco walls, and small white windows. When the roof ceased pitching, returning to the height it started at, the building extended back in a depth approximately 3 meters in length, the entire building being around 10 meters. Needless to say, the building left an impression on me.

When I entered my dream, I wandered the same block. No longer did I wander the streets through the perspective of a car, but as a pedestrian. I came upon the same building, the lead white stucco grabbing my attention immediately. I looked up, past the pitched grey shingle roof, and saw a double. Resting atop the red brick townhouses behind the building lay a flipped reflection of the white building. But it was different, it was yellow, and feathered in indigo U's. Turning the corner onto Cranberry St, I observed how the building deconstructed itself. It fragmented, copied itself even, as if it were in photoshop and someone copied and dragged a selection of the building. The doors were red, just like the white stucco building. As if almost to be practical, the lower floors of the inverted building were filled in with a blue stucco wall with a yellow triangle pattern. God knows the floor plan would be unlivable without it.

What do you think?
"It makes me think of Super Mario Brothers. I like the idea that it's mirrored from the house below it, I think it would be fun to live in a place that had such funny dimensions. It's inventive. The facade: I can't tell you about the interior but I would change the facade. I don't like the diamond patterns on the blue. Maybe a checkered pattern or a mosaic? To make it really tight, like a shower tile or a Mexican mosaic would look really cool. I think it's a fun design. I like what you've done. Mosaic, I guess, that's what coming to my mind..." - Mr.T
