1. It's been a while...

Yes, it's true, I have not posted in over 2 years on this account (and all my old submissions went to the Blueprint Creative's page). I've been busy posting with and running the Blueprint Creative Server. So, my apologies for not posting in a while, and I will start posting here regularly for each build I make.

2. My first time with Blender...

Anyways, I've recycled some old builds I made FEBRUARY LAST YEAR. Because of not being able to use Chunky anymore and OptiFine not being ready yet, I decided to experiment with Blender. I thought these row buildings would be the perfect way to get the hang of Blender since they have lots of details and depth. Admittedly, I had a lot of trouble with Blender, but thanks to some tutorials I got the hang of it.

3. Methodology...



I used trapdoors to line the windows and create a realistic effect by adding this "layer" of realism. This, combined with fences and quartz slabs/stairs to further detail the windows. I used different shades of gray stairs to create variation in the detailing (Purpur and Netherbrick stairs in the Blueprint Pack). I used stairs to create the arches in the windows. Trapdoors are very helpful because they can be window lining, or be used to create two separate 2-block wide windows in a small space.



The colors of the façades are what attracted me to these builds. I love how the colder colors of blue mixed with shades of red in the façade toward the left. All the while, the yellow building really gave some contrast in the row. It was very fun to make and to render. I believe I used a 1.8:1 scale instead of 1.5:1 because I felt that would be the best way to recreate the detail of the windows

For some reason, I can not find the reference image. I made these 9 months ago so it's probably somewhere deep in my files.
