Our goal is to do what no other minecrafter has done before. Make a scale, accurate, and beautiful version of Tolkein's middle earth in its entirety, in minecraft. We are succeeding thus far. We have sculpted the map, accurate to middle earth, with custom trees and unique biomes. Now all we have left to do is to finish building the cities and towns and buildings and landmarks in middle earth. This should take us the next 102 days. The map's natural form is completed though and looks lovely, and it is a very big adventure map (one of the biggest and certainly one of the best the best in minecraft history). The map is 10,000 blocks by 13,000 blocks or so. Everything in middle earth is there or will be there once we populate it and make the cities and towns and castles, etc. :) Many have tried for years to make an accurate depiction of middle earth, but all are either nowhere near done or are very bad. This map took months of work to terraform and paint, each detail cared for to make the sweeping landscapes that middle earth possesses, as beautiful as in the movie. Now all we must do is build...for three months.
But, as we build, we will be releasing cinematic videos of our buildings and regions on this map on our youtube channel. These videos will go up when we start building in the next month or so, we'll post the youtube channel name then. I hope you all enjoy taking this journey to middle earth with us, as we release this series of videos, and eventually the map. The greatest map in minecraft history! :)
