Minecraft's Last Reward II is the sequel to the original map created by Diapolo10. This time around the premisses are the same as the original game "Virtue's Last Reward" this map is based on. (almost). It includes all the features from the original game i.e. team colors, voting and puzzle solving. This map is made to be played with 3,6 or 9 players but is probably best with 9. Roleplaying while playing the map makes it so much better but is not essential for playing the map. For more information of the game rules check out the Wikipedia page (or don't to not spoil anything ;) )

Also, this map includes a game mode to spice things up a bit. (If you feel your opponents are a bit too nice with the voting). If you have any additional ideas for game mode to add to the game feel free to mention them in the comments and I will see what I can do about it :)

Because this map is just an improvement of Diapolo's map, the puzzles and layout are still the same. The biggest difference is that this is run using a Bukkit module instead of redstone to power the game logic which should reduce the lag and remove all the problems with chunks unloading.

There's also a resource pack to be used with the map. Originally created by Diapolo10, I have added a few things to it to make it more complete. Still, there is probably more which could be added to it so please tell me in the comments.

Now there are some pictures from the map so you can see all the features with are available on the map. :D

Complete pack: Complete
Server + Map: Server
Game map: Map
Resource pack: Full resource pack (125MB)
Light Resource pack: Light resource pack (1,2MB)

How to run the map
Just download the Server pack and run the file named start.bat and the server will start. Then you can connect to it with multiplyer the same way you conect to minecraft servers. Google how to do that if you don't know how to set up portforwarding etc.

The difference between the two resource packs are the amount of sounds contained. Both can be used to play the game and provides all the essential things you need. The only difference is if you want to hear the music from the game as background music when solving the puzzles then you need the full resource pack.

Please be sure to report any strange thing you stumble across while playing the map. It's a large one with a lot of components so it's hard to test every combination :/

Also, if you have any requests for things which could be added be sure to tell me and I'll consider it :D

If anyone is interested in making your own map of Virtue's Last Reward please tell me in the comments and I will make a video tutorial on how to use the Bukkit plugin which runs this map to create you own map which you then can fill with your own puzzles and rooms.

Error messages
  • I'm trying to run the server by clicking on the search path but it just says: "The system can't find the path specified" and then exits.
    • That's because the path to java is not set to the correct path. It should work on most computers if it just says "java" but if not this is how you solve it: Open the start.bat file with a text editor and change the word java to the correct file path to the java.exe file on your computer. i.e: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_101\bin\java.exe" (with the quote marks)

Whenever I hit the buttons "Register for the game" or "Register as a spectator" nothing happens. I'm trying to test out the map to see if it works.

Sorry for not replying until now.
There haven't been much going on here so I had actually forgot I had made this :(

I've updated the server package with a new start.bat file and I also posted a solution for your problem in the description under error messages. Hope you're still interested :)

Great work! It's nice to see two different versions of my map, considering I'm willing to make it 100% compatible with vanilla MC. "Porting" it to Bukkit was a lovely idea :D

I definitely would but I don't understand anything about bukkit "programming". ;-;

Besides, I want my own map to be vanilla compatible. ;)

Well, you did the boring part: Updating all the signs and paintings and added the code to the command blocks  ;)
